What is HMS 1 & 2 Scrap?
HMS (Heavy Melting Scrap) is a widely used ferrous scrap grade, essential in the steel manufacturing and recycling industries. It is categorized into:
- HMS 1 – Clean, heavy steel scrap with a minimum thickness of 6mm
- HMS 2 – Lighter steel scrap with a thickness of 3mm or more, may include galvanized and painted steel
